Question:
I've played the Epi and the Ibanez, and I felt the Ibanez played effortlessly and had a nice dark sound when plugged in. The Epi didn't do it for me comfort or sound wise. I hate the Ibanez white blonde look, though. Any idea?

Answer:
I think he liked the Stromberg best by a small margin, but liked all 4 overall. Reviews are so subjective anyway. Personally, I have played three of the four guitars reviewed (I have never seen the Stromberg locally) and prefer my Epiphone over the two others. The Ibanez is the one that I liked the least. I thought the acoustic sound was uninteresting, the neck felt too slim and the guitar just looked wierd. I did not even bother to plug it in. This is not a reflection of how I feel about Ibanez guitars in general, however. The Ibanez Artist remains one of my all time favorite solid bodies and the current AR300 version made in Korea (or was it China) is an outstanding value.
