Question:
I have an Ibanez BTB bass and need one of those little white nylon bushings for between the tuning knob and the shaft. I've been to my local repair center and to my local Guitar Center and nobody can help me. The salesguy from Guitar Center (who really does his best to help me because I've given him a lot of commission money) had made countless calls to Ibanez and even cornered the regional Ibanez rep during one of his visits. Nobody will send one of the 5-cent bushings. The Ibanez rep told him that Ibanez prefers that people return the entire bass to the factory!?!?! Okay, I can play along with that game... Problem is, after 6 weeks, Ibanez still hasn't issued an RMA for my bass . Finally, I gave up and brought it home... Still no stinking 5-cent bushing. Does anybody know where I can go or who I can call to get one of these?? I am absolutely disgusted with Ibanez and their horrible post-sales service. This same bass also has a noisy Neutrik jack and Ibanez refuses to replace that because, in their exact words, Neutrik jacks NEVER go bad. I offered to send them a bad one to prove them wrong, but they weren't interested. I know, I know... I shouldn't have even bought this thing, except that I really liked it (and still do). Eventually, I'll trade up to something a bit nicer, but until then, where can I get one of these freakin' bushings????
Answer:
Your experiences mirror mine exactly. Ibanez doesn't give a rat's ass about their customers - either pre-sale or post-sale. I have never had a phone call answered satisfactorily and I've never gotten even ONE reply to any of the e-mails I've sent. That's why my bass collection now only contains one Ibanez product instead of the 4 it used to - and that one's going as soon as I can find a buyer
