Changing strings on an Ibanez guitar (S370) with floyd-rose

Tagged As: Ibanez Guitar Guitar

Question:
im new to guitars, i just got my very first guitar, sadly when i ewnt home i realized the tiniest string was busted I need a little bit of help in learning how to change the guitar string (how to remove the remains of the string, and how to put in a new one). It's an Ibanez S370 and uses Floyd-Rose Locking Tremolo.

Answer:
If it's like all the other Ibanezi I've owned, the tailpiece has six matte-black rod-like projections coming out of the back, pointing towards the endpin of the guitar. They'll be of the same length, but appear staggered somewhat. In the end of each of those, you'll notice a hexagonal hole; that's for a small Allen wrench (or hex wrench). Turning one counter-clockwise loosens the clamp that holds the string into the saddle (the thing the string travels over before going on up the neck to the headstock, or in your case, to the locking nut... which should use the same size Allen wrench as the bridge things).
