I have an older (late 80's) Ibanez 540 s. It's the super thin model and the serial number is #A700287. The neck has a significant crack and I'd like to get a replacement neck. So far, the local guitar shops have been little help. Does anyone know if or where I can get a new neck for this guitar?
Answer:
I personally doubt that you'll be able to get an original neck from Ibanez in any reasonable time frame at anything approaching a reasonable cost, particularly if the model is out of production. Alternately, you might look for another copy of the guitar itself, perhaps one with a damaged body, to re-use a neck from.
