Question:
I have a black Ibanez RG guitar, with a low TRS trem, two humbuckers and one single coil. The problem is that I bought it a few years ago and can't remember which RG it is - 270, 470, 550 etc. Is there any way I could find out?
Answer:
On my ibenez there is a sticker on the back of the neck it includes the model number as well as the serial number. I Have disassembled the guitar a couple of times and havent found any distingishing numbers other than the stickers. A question for you is where did you get the guitar? If it was a guitar shop they should be able to tell you what model it is if you take it in. Usually one doesn't remove these stickers unless the guitar is stolen Ibanez RG 550 and above 550 use a Lo Pro Edge Tremolo. Ibanez RG 470 and under 470 use a Lo TRS Trem. Ibanez RG 270 and under 270 use a Single Locking Tremolo The second number from Ibanez RG : 5 means that the guitar come with a pickguard. 7 means that the guitar doesn't come with a pickguard
