Which company do you all like best (based on experience with the performance of the instrument) ESP or Jackson ?

Answer:
My Jackson was custom built to my exact specs. I asked for a Seymour pickup-no problem. I would say for my money that custom is custom. Jackson did a fantastic job on mine, but I would think ANY custom shop could do just as well. If you want a custom guitar it's just that- custom- as in to your specs. The more specific you get in your demands the more it's going to cost. Unless the Jackson custom shop recently adopted some kind of strict tolerances and just won't budge, you should be able to get them to build whatever you want- for a price of course. I've got a friend over at Charvel/Jackson in Fort Worth. Next time he's over I'll ask him what the custom shop in Fort Worth and and San Dimas Cal. are up to these days. I wonder if the custom shop in Cal. is still there ? What with Charvel/Jackson moving alot of the operation to Japan. If someone is looking for that one of-a-kind custom guitar there are alot of smaller custom shops that also do excellent work at a more reasonable price than some of the larger manufacurers. The only problem I've run into with custom shops was Ibanez and my roomates dilema. They would not build a lefty for him. As far as an off the shelf guitar, I prefer the Jackson's also, but I think it's more a matter of personal taste. I've played several of each I've liked and disliked some of each. I think all of this ends up being personal taste anyways. If you find something *you* like and it plays to your satisfaction buy it. It's not what you play anyways, it's how you play it that counts. (to a certain degree).
