Guitar used by Jackson Browne on Bonnie Raitt Video

Tagged As: Jackson Guitar Used

Question:
I was watching a Bonnie Raitt video and she has a guest appearance by Jackson Browne. He's playing a strange looking guitar that looks something like an acoutic telecaster. Anybody know what it was?

Answer:
Sounds like an F-hole Tele. These have hollow bodies and usually Two humbuckers rather than single coils. Richie Edwards (Mnic Street Preachers)used one. Jackson was an eatrly adopter of Danny Ferrington's work, which includes an acousticaster- did the guitar JB played have a sound hole rather than F-holes? If so, it is probably a Ferrington. DF later licensed the design to Kramer, and used models of these should be out there with a little looking. There is a coffee-table book of DF's work avaiable. If it is a Ferrington you can also look at the cover of The Pretender's Last Of The Independents album and Chrissie is holding a Ferrington in the picture. If it looks like the one Chrissie is holding then Jackson is using a Ferrington. Either a Kramer Ferrington or one that Ferrington made himself. Eddie Van Halen used to be featured in Krammer adds with Kramer Ferringtons as well
