Question:
I found a nice Jackson Stealth in a music store and put it on layaway. The hang tag said Stealth but when they printed up the paperwork it said Soloist. Are they the same? Any comments?
Answer:
The Stealth and the Soloist are two different models. Generally, the Soloist is Jackson's high-end and is a neck-thru model. If yours is bolt-on, it's probably not a Soloist. The Soloist also usually has Shark-Fin inlays. The Stealth series were Korean made if I recall correctly. I think they're called the Performer Series now. The Soloist series are made in USA and aren't cheap. One possibility about the mix up in the name is that someone in the store entered it into the computer wrong - someone who doesn't know a Stealth from a Soloist. Another reason is that they may have charged you for a Soloist and sold you a Stealth. Buyer beware. If you spent more than about $300-$350 for a Stealth, you got ripped.
