Which Martin Guitar do you like Best?
Answer:
I love my 00-18, once owned by Patti Smith and then by her sister Kimberly Smith. Kim left it on consignment at the Village Music Inn on West 4th Street in New York City, and that's where I bought it about 25 years ago. I also have an 0-15 that serves as my standby. It has a some- what richer bass, so it's also the guitar I use for drop D tuning, but overall the 00-18 is the sweeter of the two. Even though neither is a Dreadnaught, they can produce more than enough volume. In fact, I just played a gig in November without a mike and using bare fingers for many of the numbers, and both Martins filled the [admittedly cozy] house.
