Question:
Now I can only speak from personal experience, but in the Summer of 98 I bought myself a Baby Taylor, and it is just lovely, and that is also the opinion of those who listen to it. Then earlier this year I visited New York and Mat Umanov (Thanks for letting me just sit there and try guitar after guitar). I came out with a Taylor 514ce - I haven't heard a more beautiful guitar sound than this instrument! Does anyone out there have one - let's hear what you think of yours?
Answer:
I don't have 1. I have 9. The first Taylor I bought was a GA-BE (bought sight unseen ... I've never regretted it ... it's my favorite guitar of all times) in 1995. In 1996, I got a Baby Taylor, 655, and 410K. In 1998, I got a W-65, K-22 (which I traded in for a Larrivee VCOM-10K), and Baby Taylor M. This year, I got an XXV-GA, 714-BCE, and 314-MCE. I like them all ... some days it's hard to decide what to play (though I probably play the GA-BE, 714-BCE, and 655 the most ... I play the Babies the least at home) ... and some days I'd rather play a Martin (D-40QM) or Larrivee (VCOM-10K or J-09-12) ... and every once in awhile I get the urge to play my Ovation Longneck.
