Have anyone of you rewound a pick-up? I have an old Hofner p.u. that needs to be done. Can it be done at home? What type of wire? ect.

Answer:
Yes it can be done at home. Many recommend #42 enamelled wire, but like every other subject matter in here, this suggestion will cause endless debate. Bottom line, it's probably cheaper and easier to go to ebay and buy a replacement pickup. If you were rebuilding an expensive vintage guitar, authenticity may be worth the extra dollars, but an old Hofner???
