Question:
I'm looking a 3/4 scale guitar. I'm thinking about either the Squier mini or the Washburn mini. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations. Or are there other ones I'm overlooking.
Answer:
I bought my three year old son the Squier Mini Strat, and he's getting it for Christmas. It's got a plywood body, a single ply pickguard, and a maple neck with a rosewood fretboard. I paid $100 at MF, and that's about what it's worth, I suppose. I played around with it after it arrived, and it sounds okay for a plywood guitar. It played very well, with a decent setup and good action. It took awhile to get it in tune, but it could have been in shock from the trip or something. ;) It's perfect for my son, since all he'll care about is that it looks like my Strat. Hopefully, he'll learn to play it...I tuned it to open G ala Keef, so he can make chords without any trouble.
