Washburn guitars??

Question:
Does anyone have any feedback on Washburn acoustic guitars?  I heard a guy play solo at a club with a Washburn D10SCE and it sounded pretty good. I am looking for another 6 string acoustic.  I have a thinline Yamaha acoustic-electric (APX-4A) and wanted something with a larger body and bassier sound.

Answer:
I bought my brother a Washburn D10SCE. He loves it. If their acoustics are anything like their HB35n (which I have), They must truly be wonderful guitars for the money. Just for your information. There is a guy in Milwaukee that sells Washburns with finish flaws. Nothing that would affect the sound or stability. Maybe a nick or dent that's about it. Real reasonable prices. Let me know if you would like to get in touch with him. I'd be happy to help. I have a DSE 18 about 20 years old now that my son begs to borrow when he is recording.  He says it is as close to Studio Quality as he can get. A really mellow sounding guitar.  I enjoy the music of Gordon Lightfoot, my old washburn gets capoed in the 2nd fret about 90 percent of the time.  I think I paid about 185.00 buck for it back then, which would mean that adjusted for inflation I couldn't afford it now....Like most everything in life, try one out and it may be just what you are looking for.....or not...cam in indy. I think I had a D-10N, the action was okay but the tone wasn't as rich as I would have liked. Was a great first acoustic guitar though. I play a 1991 J20S -- a cedar topped jumbo with walnut back and sides (laminated) -- love it.  Wouldn't trade or sell it under any circumstances. Haven't seen one in years, and only have ever seen one other. It doesn't sound like other Washburns I've played, though...although the volume is less than booming and I use other stuff for percussive/strumming things, it's a dynamite instrument with a warm tone. My main songwriting instrument. Until recently, my main and only acoustic guitar was a Washburn D-26 I bought it for $220 used.  Sounds incredible and has instilled lust and envy in the hearts of my friends and acquaintances. I just acquired a Santa Cruz OM/PW (even more lust and envy in the friends). A world of difference but the Washburn still sounds good to me.  I have small hands and arms so the SC is a lot more comfortable to play. My guitar tech guy tells me the Washburn's tonality is messed up further up the neck.  But he did some mods that helped.  The only thing this means to me is that I have to re-tune when I capo up higher than the 5th fret. What I now need is a banger to play out that has the tone of the SC (or Washburn) but definitely the neck style of the SC OM/PW.  Now the Washburn neck is feeling even more uncomfortable.  I was hoping to pick up a Larrivee OM body guitar but the ones I have played are also wanting in the neck area. I love the sound of the Larrs but my Washburn holds it's own pretty well against them.  I think it sounds somewhere between a mahogany Taylor and a mahogany Larrivee D series.
