Randall amps?

Tagged As: Randall Amps

Question:
Does anyone have any opinion on these? There's one down the local music store, 50w tube combo, model RG50TC.. I didn't try it for long, but it sounded very bright and metallic to me, with reasonable overdrive.

Answer:
My Randall RG-140 SS amp is ok, buttt.... 1.The caps fall off of the circuit board if you drop it, or pull it over. Same goes for lots of other makes. 2. The jacks are cheap and mounted directly on the circuit board, so use elastic guitar cords only. See note 1. 3. Older models get absolutely no support whatsoever from the Randall company of today. I got a schematic from a guy in Sweden, thanks agin Nils. 4. RG-140 is for sale, $200

i have a randall rg50tc and this morning i couldnt get any sound out at all. its only about 3 months old, it sounded good and i would love to say that this was a one off problem except that this is the second randall i have owned thats become fulty within a year as that this was an exchange. i would also like to add, they were not giged only rehearsed with. it sounded amazing when i bought it but be aware.
