Question:
Can anyone point me to somewhere that I can find a circuit diag for a Randall Amp
Answer:
You and me both! What model do you have? I bought a Randall amp and speakers a while ago, and have been looking for a while. Washburn bought Randall a few years ago, but they did NOT buy their older gear, and can't help you with that. Here is their website with contact information. www.washburn.com. Their web site is down this morning, but it worked last week. Follow the link to Randall, they have phone numbers and address on it. A lot of music stores carry Randall, you might try some of them. Find someone who has been around for a while. They'll tell that Randall was great in the 70's, stunk in the '80s and has some half decent equipment today. The Irvine Randall store is long gone, I don't know where the old Randall stuff is today if anyone is supporting it at all. I had to take my amp apart to get the model number off of the circuit card and found it is an RG50, which is discontinued. They still make a few of the old models. My amp was made in 1990, and some of the capacitors had already gone bad. I was getting a good hum in the reverb stage, so I replace all of the electrolytic capacitors and that fixed it. If your Randall amp is solid state and hums, you might think of doing the same. After replacing the caps, my amp is as quiet and clean as can be, no hum at all. FWIW, I love my Randall. It's a good clean solid state amp, doesn't have much of the 'tone' of a tube amp, but that is fine with me. It has a decent reverb and a decent distortion stage. I play a Fender through a Proco Rat into the amp and it sounds great
