Question:
I am thinking of buying a Trace Elliott 7215SM 300Watt/15inch speaker combo. I want it to last me a long time and give good sound and tone control over all notes and octaves. Does anybody have one and how is it rated for sound quality, reliability etc. I need advice asap please
Answer:
I'm still paying off my 7215SM 300Watt/15inch and it has been worth every cent. It gives your bass a warm, clear sound. What I will do later (when I've finished paying it off) is get a 1048H or 1248H cabinet. These are Trace Elliot speaker cabinets with 4 x 10 and 4 x 12 horns respectively. ince the 7215SM has a extension speaker output, you can just hook them up, and voila! If you want to get a sturdy, reasonably compact and powerful amp, go for this one . Try the Marshall Dynamic bass cabs too. I have the Dymanic Bass 2x10 cab (7210, 4 ohms, 400W RMS). The 7410 is 800W RMS, 4x10, 8 ohms, and the 7041 is similar, but 400WRMS. The 7410 is a bit of a monster at 120 lbs, but the 7041 is smaller. The 7210 I have, though, sounds a lot smoother than the Trace Elliot 1x10s in the BLX combos and extension cabs. Maybe the 10s in the Trace 4x10s are better?
