Question:
Are Crate amplifiers any good?
Answer:
Depends on what you use them for. Blues, Metal, Country... so on. It also depends on the model you're looking at. I have a Blue Voodoo half stack and I love it. It's great for Rock, Metal and Blues. It was only $1100 which is pretty cheap for 120watt head and 4x12 cab. Anyway, I've never liked the smaller Crate amps. I've never liked the sound. Once I played a Blue Voodoo, I was hooked.. If you want a cheap 15w practice amp, I'd go for Crate or Fender. If you want a 1x12 or 2x12, I'd go with Marshall or Crate (they're fairly cheap), if you want a stack... Mesa Boogie, Blue Voodoo, Marshall.... Basicly, try the amp(s) out first. If you don't like the sound, you're not stuck with it. You can move on to a different amp.
