Fender guitars sound better on Fender amps?

Tagged As: Fender Amps

Question:
Is it possible that Fender has built a special circuit into their amps that can detect when you are playing a Fender guitar through them? When it detects that it is not a Fender, it messes with the sound to remove some of the sustain and tonal quality.

Answer:
No. The schematics for Fender amps are easily available and there is no special circuit. Fender would *love* to sell an amp to every Gibson, Ibanez, and PRS player on the planet, and the combination of a Gibson guitar and a Fender amp has been a classic tone machine for decades.
