Laney BC75 bass amp

Tagged As: Laney Bass Amps

Question:
I've got a Laney BC75 bass amplifier, but I dont got the manuals. The site of Laney (http://www.laney.co.uk/) dont contains anything about that amp (probably too old), and I cannot see any E-mail address. Can you perhaps explain me the following things: - there is a DI (direct injection) plug on my amp - 2 effect loop plugs: SEND and RECEIVE where can I locate this in the following sheme?

Answer:
I used to own a BC75. Don't have the manual anymore but from what I remember it wouldn't be much help. Very simple -- showed drawings of the front and rear panels (included the entire BC series, The 50, 75 & 120) with short descriptions of the components. The Effects loop appears AFTER the preamp section and BEFORE the amp section. The Receive is the signal coming from the preamp, and the Send would be the signal going to the amp. You use this in one of two ways... Let's say you have an effects box. A cable from the Receive is plugged into the input of the box and the output is plugged into the Send. OR you can plug directly into your effect box and just connect the output to the Send. The DI output is a balanced (Tip,Ring,Sleeve) 1/4 jack. It is AFTER the preamp though I'm not sure if it is Pre-EQ or Post-EQ. You would use this to plug into a mixing board for recording or the house PA. Personally, I'd rather mic the cabinet.
