Question:
Are they really that much better than any other 4/12 loaded with Vintage 30's? l know supposedly they have Celestion custom make their V 30's but are the cabs worth the $800+? lf so then cool l'll buy one but l'd like some opinions. Unless a dealer has multiple brands in stock it's hard to play them side by side. All the Mesa dealers around here (Atlanta) don't have too many other brands. l do have a Triple Rectifier and would like to add a Mesa cab if they are worth it.
Answer:
it really doesn't matter which cab u use, the best way to choose is go play the triple recto with diffrent cabs(yes music store will generally let u bring you amp and stuff in and try it out kuz it would most likly mean comission for them) this is from my experiance. mesa recto cabs are good for the recto line, so are Marshall jcm 900 cabs, fender are okay at low volumes but can't take the bass mid combination very well(u will heard like a fart-ish type sound in the back round) and those are the only ones i have heard Mesa..i dunno sumthin bout them sounds good, really good bass response.crisp marshall..good cruchy sound doesn't handle the bass as well as mesas fender..don't buy..... the band that i tech for uses his triple recto only for distortion and switches in between another amp for clean, but his is set up with a marshall cab on either side of the mesa cab and it sounds amazing (think godsmack but crunchyer and bassyer) email me with ne questions
