Question:
What are the best mini amps out there, I hear VOX makes a 1W one. How about the mini-twin, marshall's and pignoses? I'm looking at getting a good practice only amp, just want to work on the guitar, no frills really.

Answer:
Get a Marshall MS-2 and hotrod it. It's easy. Go to Radio Shack and get an 8-ohm, 2-watt potentiometer and put it on the speaker. It acts as your Master Volume. Mount the pot in the back of the amp. I sawed off part of the outer shaft so I could store it in my guitar case. That little amp ROCKS ! Drawback? It eats batteries like I eat pizza. Soultion? Take a Dremel tool and widen the space made for the 9V battery and use rechargeable ones (rechargeables are slightly bigger and don't fit in many cavities).
