Question:
I'm looking for a small Mini-Amp to take along camping with me this year. My friend has an acoustic, so I think it would be pretty cool to be able to jam with him on electric while were camping. Are any of these little battery powered amps decent at all? Something like the Danelectro Honey-tone, Fender Mini-Twin, etc.? I know none of them will give me good tone, but is there one or 2 that at least sound good enough that I won't be tossing it in the river after about a half hour of playing?
Answer:
As a harmonica player...who likes the distorted Chicago harp sound....I think the Fender Mini Twin with a reverb-delay pedal is pretty good. I've even taken the Fender Mini-Twin to gigs and miked it for the sound. And it has done wonders at keeping the peace at home too.....when I plug the guitar into it, I also plug in headphones to avoid driving the remainder of my household nuts while I'm endlessly practicing my feeble skills at guitar
