Question:
I was just wondering if anyone here is using this amp and what are your opinions regarding tone, reliability, and what you consider to be the good and bad aspects of this amp?
Answer:
I have it's bigger brother, the AD50VT. The 30 just didn't quite do it for me, plus the 50 has an external speaker jack. I got this to mate with my Soldano Decatone stack, since the Soldano rig is not exactly mobile. It met my expectations and then some. This is one killer little amp and I couldn't find anything nearly as good in it's price range. It's not exactly a 'tube amp' but it does have a tube in the preamp. You'd never know the output section was solid state though, it sounds amazing. I just couldn't believe it. The only bad thing I've found is a small glitch with the extra volume control. When the first volume is past 3/4 up and you switch amp modes, the new mode is very quiet until you crank the first volume knob down then back up. Just a little glitch I guess, and it's not a huge deal as you really just set that volume and leave it then adjust the amp volume with the master volume. The power soak function is nice, you can drive the amp to it's full capacity and not wake up the rest of the house in the middle of the night
