Yamaha Power Amplifier

Tagged As: Yamaha Power Amplifier

Question:
I have a Yamaha M-80 Power Amp and the protection light will not go off. Can anyone help me out with this?

Answer:
Many Japanese-made products in this era used a hot-glue to hold components and wiring to the circuit boards. Over the decades this glue has baked and become both conductive and corrosive. Remove *all* of it, everywhere you find it. You may also find that some components' leads have been eaten right through and will need replacement. And, of course, replace the small electrolytic capacitors. They're old enough to vote.
