Keith Urban Guitar Chord

Question:

A few unsolicited observations : 1 - There's a couple of pictures of Jody, and in one he looks like he's a John Anderson impersonator, and in the other one he's morphed into the millenium clean shaven , haircut, the whole nine yards. Which one is recent ? 2 - Three of the four songs are quite good, but the second one sounded like a bar band. If memory serves it was the slowest of the four. Who did the writing on all four ? There's obviously some talent there, and with my encouragement and handling you could go places 3. According to the site I believe 2 were from 1998 and 2 from 2006. I know it's on-line, and I'm still saddled with dial-up for another month or so, but the 2006 songs sounded like they were either done on the cheap, or done in a lesser quality enviroment than the 1998 sides. 4. It was interesting to see what you really look like. Not exactly what I had visuallized, but you still have that almost Keith Urban look about you, that you've never done a lick of work in your entire life. Also, I believe a person's life is written on their face, and your's looks to me like way too much pot, and way too much hair ! Any comment?

Answer:

On the more photos page, the one that says burning up the den is about two months old, the ones from Hays are more recent, but are awfully dark, at least on this monitor. The ones where you say John Anderson and I say Ren-Faire reject are older. The first cut, and presumably most of them, came from his CD that was cut and produced in Nashville. Fairly Good Fool had Tommy White on steel, Glen Duncan on fiddle, Pete Wade on guitar, Pig Robbins on keys. I don't know what others there were yet. I didn't know there was more than one. If one of them is Make It A Law, that was me on steel, and it was done on the cheap, in Jody's living room studio. He compounded that by choosing not to add any effects, not even EQ or reverb. Had I known that would happen, I've had used my amp and gone direct out of it, instead of direct from steel to tape. Okay, the page loaded. The first and third cuts are from Fairly Good Fool using Nashville pros. Cuts two and four feature us, although not the current lineup, as that's Bill Allen on fiddle. There is talk of re-recording Make It A Law, which would presumably then include Josie. This would also allow me to make my steel sound better The reason the Tele sounds fatter is that Chuck went through a multi-effects unit, with a delay pedal and a small bit of distortion. I'm pretty pleased with my playing on both of those two cuts, and even my friends didn't notice the clam on Bring it On. Either that, or they were being kind. Well, I haven't had any pot in about 19 and a half years, and my wife likes me better with long hair, and no one else complains. I'll forgive you the Keith Urban comment...
