I am a young player and have to buy a guitar for my lessons, since I am a beginner I want to buy a cheap guitar. I want only a fender or a Ricenbocker. I know that I will never find cheap fenders or ricenbockers. But if anyone has the heart to sell me one DIRT CHEAP!! I don’t give a shit about the order it's in as long as it plays stays in tune and sounds good!

You can get a Fender Standard Strat for under $300 I just got a new Musician's Friend catalog today and they have a standard strat in there for $280. You can't get much cheaper than that unless you want a piece of crap. (Personally, I don't think the Fender is a whole lot better, but it's at least playable). Joe... you can get fenders as low as 279.00 at http://www.musiciansfriend.com brand new. Usually with gig bag. They probably will come down on the price if haggle... What model of Fender is it? Squire? Do you know how much they ask for an American standard strat? I haven't received a catalog yet. Fender Standard Strat is all that it says.  I assume this is Mexican, but I don't know.  I haven't noticed any of the Squire line advertised in MF.  Perhaps that conflicts with MF inhouse Rogue series... Do you know how much they ask for an American standard strat? $689.94 with HS case.  I think that's about the same as GC wants. The difference is that GC offers a lower price and then tries to tack on full price for the case ($130) afterwards. Bleiz: It is $689 for the American Strat. Sounds like a con job to me. I'd like to buy some Fenders dirt cheap too.... BTW it's RicKenBACKer.
