Pink Fender Acoustic Guitar

Tagged As:

Question:

My daughter is taking up the guitar and really wants a pink electric guitar. I have been looking around, unsuccessfully. I also know little about electrics. I don't really want to go to another group to ask this - I have picked up enough attitude already in the music stores - so I thought I would ask here first - any ideas on where I can get a pink electric guitar and, more importantly, what I should be looking for in an electric?

Answer:

You should be looking for exactly the same things in an electric as in an acoustic - tone, playability, good quality hardware, decent setup etc. Tone is hardest, because if you want good tone you have to get at least a halfway decent amplifier...prolly more than the guitar to buy, and even harder to find in pink.... Does your daughter play the guitar at all at the moment, or is this a whim? How old is she? I'd be tempted to teach her the basics on an acoustic and see whether or not she shows any progress before lashing out on a load of hardware - electrics are highly value added - guitar, amp, straps, leads, picks, fuzzboxes, phasers, EQ gadgets, roadies, drummers, bassists.... Pink is the least of your problems.

If still looking, my son just acquired a solid pink fender electric guitar he may be interested in parting with. It seems to be a unique color or custom.
