Tom Delonge Fender Guitar

Tagged As:

Question:

Talk about pandering to the lowest common denominator. Delonge is the sneering, talentless guitarist for Blink 182, a band of late twenty-somethings that caters to an audience of 12 year olds. Not only has Fender issued a signature Strat bearing his name, but it has also bestowed upon this model two of the most appealing and nostalgic Strat colors -- surf green and daphne blue. any comment?

Answer:

While not disagreeing with anything you have said, if you were CEO of Fender, and your job was selling guitars, what would you have done differently? Fender is a business, they need to make money to survive. Blink 182 is a hot band, not exactly to my tastes, but that's beside the point, if Fender can sell a lot of these guitars because of that, then what exactly are they doing wrong? I wouldn't especially want an Ace Freeley signature LP, but that doesn't mean I despise Gibson for making one.

Youuu need to get your head out off your arsee dude. He's a good guitarist, has an awsome voice.. and is doing bloody well for himself. Why can't people leave him be? He's written tonnes of awsome songs, and if you've ever been to a concert, they aren't all bloody 12.
