mBox with Cakewalk's Guitar Tracks Pro?

Tagged As: Cakewalk Guitar Tracks

Question:
Can you use Cakewalk's Guitar Tracks Pro along with the mBox? Up till now I've been plugging my mic into the soundcard and using Guitar Tracks. The sound quality is horrible. Since, I've bought the mBox -- the salesman told me with the ASIO drivers it would work with Cakewalk -- I can't figure out how to make that happen. I'm very happy with the simplicity of Guitar Tracks and frankly, I can't get ProTools to do the things I got Cakewalk to do easily (my own ignorance, I know). Any ideas on how I can stay with Cakewalk and use the mBox? Other alternatives?   * Another recording box w/Phantom power?   * Learning ProTools (I can't import drum loops and have it play at the tempo of the song I'm recording -- it plays at it's native tempo)

Answer:
Cakewalk will be adding support for ASIO with their next update to Sonar (scheduled for February). I don't know about their other software though. Go to their newsgroups and ask.
