Good Electronic Guitar Tuner

Tagged As: Electronic Guitar Tuner

Question:
I am looking for a good electronic guitar tuner.  Not too expensive, but I will take more expensive suggestions under consideration. I would like: * chromatic tuning allowing tuning on any note * an indicator needle * ability to tune to different frequencies (like 442 instead of 440) * ability to plug in guitar to tuner or tune with built-in mic I would like something to allow me to fine tune--with a high degree of accuracy.  I am using an old Boss TU-12S and, quite frankly, sometimes I'm very slightly off.  I can hear that I'm off.  And that ain't good.

Answer:
Does your TU12S have a way to calibrate it? Why don't you get a digital tuner and you'll never have to worry about it again? Audio Phonics has several free software tuners which will do everything you ask. Google around and download. Be aware that these are only as portable as your computer. Absolute BEST tuner I have ever owned. http://www.petersontuners.com/products/modelvsam/index.cfm 2nd'd. Excellent for setting precise bridge intonation, getting it dialed in. I know this isn't what you meant but this site works for me on a number of different levels... Online guitar tuner: http://www.chordbook.com/guitartuner.php I have been using a Sanyo for about 5 years now in a bar every Friday and Saturday night.......still like the day I bought it.....$20 Canadian.
