House Of Guitars

Tagged As:

Question:

On Thanksgiving night I walked into my house to find it had been burgled and ransacked. They took two laptop computers, a bowl of change, and some other things...but not my two guitars, one worth 2 k and the other 4k. The nimrods. They did look at the guitars though, because one case had been opened and the guitar that was on its stand had been moved and dinged a bit. But overall I got lucky. I've been on a fanatical warfooting for the last five days, securing the perimeter (boobytraps, lights etc.), cleaning the guns, getting fresh ammunition etc. If these bastards come back, oh my, they've got some surprises in store for them. I almost hope they come. Any comment?

Answer:

Years ago when my house got robbed my neighbor told me he almost walked out with his gun to confront them as they loaded up their car but he felt too sick. Thank God he didn't and called the cops then called me at work instead. They were armed and he was so sick he died not long after that. Who knows who he could have killed if they started shooting at each other. They took my computer, some jewelry and the change I had in a bowl and left the guitars just like with Jackson. After my neighbor called the cops these idiots stopped at the nearby gas station! A cop saw them there on the way to my house and realized they fit the description and pulled in as they ran in all directions. The one with the gun fumble and dropped it as he ran. The cop pulled her gun but didn't have to fire. She caught one of four kids (all under 18) who were crammed in a small car with the computer (the days of big monitors) and other stuff. It was a Vietnamese gang who had done at least 15 other robberies in my area by going in through the doggy door. They eventually caught them all. I had to wait to get my stuff after they put that black fingerprint powder all over everything. I would rather give them that stuff than have anyone get shot and die. Everything they took was worth only about $500. I was also on a jury once where the gun that was used had killed a five year old girl in the cross fire. None of the bad guys died in that one. I'll never forget that. Glad you are OK, Jackson. Get a dog, put up lights and maybe cameras you can use to watch it over the web when you are gone. Most of all, get to know your neighbors so they can do what mine did so the professionals can handle it.
