Question:
I have a few projects that are in a long stereo wave format and I want to add some synths, pads, voices, etc. I thought about recording them directly, but I recently considered the virtual synths, as in Reason and FruityLoops. Is there a program for windows that is best suited for adding synths [not just effects] to a previously made large stereo wave file and then allows decent mixing and mastering? I know Sonar would do this but my impression of Sonar is that is does not offer a lot of virtual synth voices.
Answer:
All the advanced midi/audio sequencers support software synths and sample players. They don't generally come with many included, though later versions of Cubase now include a couple of very usable synths.
