how I connect my KORG Workstation to the computer?

Tagged As: Korg Workstation

Question:
I have a KORG X-3 Music Workstation with midi cables and whatnot, as well as a PII computer. I have downloaded some software to help me make the midi files. I would like to know how I connect my KORG Workstation to the computer? Do I need a special card or what not? Does all software support all types of keyboards? Is there a FAQ out there for this?

Answer:
You need a cable from the joystick port on the sound card to the keyboard. YOu also need some decent software--the best place to start is www.pgmusic.com and get the new Powertracks Pro Audio 5--the tutorial on the CD is the best anywhere. You can get your cable from them as well, i what you have from Korg is inadequate.

I have a Korg X3 that has a bad floppy disk drive. There are only PCM DATA and Sequence Card slots on back of my keyboard. Is there anyway to connect an external floppy disk drive to pull up all my songs that I have stored on my floppys?
