Has anyone else experienced this same problem about using Korg X2?

Tagged As: Korg X2

Question:
Ok, here's the problem. I have a Korg X2, and the disk drive works fine. I can format disks, and load data from them. However, if I format a disk with the X2, I can't read it from Windows XP. And same thing goes the other way 'round. Has anyone else experienced this same problem? I want to load some new sounds from a Korg site, but I can't get them loaded due to the problem above. Any advice is appreciated!

Answer:
What is this MIDI you speak of? Just joking. I haven't tried the MIDI stuff. I just purchased the synth, and need to pick up another two or three MIDI cables to get all my stuff working. I'm getting back into playing around with the stuff. But who knows. I was trying to download some patches from: http://www.korg.co.uk/downloads/x3x2dl.htm

Hello. Korg X3/X2 uses raw data for floppy disks. You cannot therefore use windows. but however you can use DOS with it. DOS can read X3/X2 formatted disks. but be patient when it's loading and checking disk (quite slow). You can add, delete and do anything you want with dos. BUT don't forget this: When you do delete or overwrite data with Korg X3/X2, you cannot use it anymore with dos... unless you format the disk again with Korg X3/X2. So you need to format disk with the keyboard, and then you can use it with dos as long as you do not write anything for disk with the keyboard.
