Who's Leo Nadelmann and can he really play piano?

Tagged As: Play Piano

Question:
So I was cruising the Appian website last week to see what Sergio Fiorentino recordings were still available and amongst all the rather well-known pianists on their catalog list is some guy named Leo Nadelmann. Is he the label owner's dad or brother-in-law or something...or does this guy really know how to play piano? And if so, how come we haven't heard more from him (these recordings are from 1956 or so)? Is he one of those little-known keyboard wonders like Rosita Renard? I tried Googling him in this group only AND on the web with no luck. So...'fess up. Who knows this guy?

Answer:
Dirk, Leo Nadelmann is obscure indeed - in our days. But people who hark back to LP times or even to LP record clubs know him. He was Swiss and made many recordings for the Concert Hall Society. He surely can play the piano even though his somewhat rough ways sometimes are not my cup of tea. For sure he is no Fiorentino...
