Question:
Ask someone with the Moog modular software AND a Moog modular if the software sounds just like the actual modular, and if using it is similar... otherwise it's (like CS-80 software must be) just software with a similar list of functions, perhaps a similar interface, and the name.

Answer:
First off, have you tried the software? I haven´t so all I´m saying is if it gets close, it´s cool for people who either can´t afford or don´t have room or can´t find a CS80. Second I know quite a few people with Moog Modulars (I had 2 but prefered my ARPs and Buchlas) and of course it isn´t going to be the same but virtually all the people I know who have say it gets very close in overall tone. You just sound rather elitist. If you can´t afford or find a CS80 or modular then you don´t deserve some software that is similar? Is that your point? Your question was what´s the point I gave you my points. If you had said it won´t sound as good I would have a greed, but I´ve released enough music to know that it is all irrelevant. I Have a pretty decent setup that you can see here www.davidmorley.com but my fav tune was done on a jupiter 4 and an emax. I have a friend who just uses one piece of software I haven´t even heard of and his stuff is great.
