Question:
I want to get this spooky high sound comparable to a theremin from old sci-fi movies as portishead's Adrian Utley played it with his holy moog on some tracks like ' mysterons ' and ' humming ' for a track with my band. I got it finally done with Ph's Reason in subtractor. But it´s not that original like a real theremin or this superb high moog sound. Has anyone an idea for programming this sound with my Roland JP-8080? Do you know any webpages related to imitate original moog sounds with other synths like the JP-8080? Are there any other synths that could do this job well? Maybe a theremin soft synth?

Answer:
Look on the portishead web site. If you find Adrian's section he has a patch diagram of the Theremin on a mini moog. These settings help to create a good version on most any synth. I was able to come up with a good one on the nord modular. Keep in mind he runs the mini through a tape echo so some of your sound is from that.
