Question:
I have a chance to purchase a Haddorff player piano sn 51023 23wx but can't find any info on the web. I am new to pianos but found this one locally for 200.00 it works any help would be great
Answer:
I would think that is pretty good if it plays. If you want to electify it you can get a kit on ebay for $165. http://tinyurl.com/6r97c If it is already electrified you are that much ahead already. Check here for info on cheap players http://www.onkeypianotuning.com/Used%20Piano.htm I picked up a Brewster for the cost of moving it. It was heavy and it took 4 teenagers, myself and wife (she just watched and complained) to load it in our pickup. In the process of loading it, some of the felt pad dampers fell off otherwise it works fine. I would stay away from anyone claiming you have to hire a member of the piano players guild. I talked to one about tuning the Brewster but he wouldnt put the felt pads in. Said I had to hire somebody else. IMHO the missing felt pads (they are loose in the bottom) add expression to the player.
