Question:
I would like to buy either a 48 or 52 upright piano or a grand between 5' to 54'. Could anyone comment on Schimmel piano? Maybe comparing it with Yamaha U1, U3, C1 or Kawai or Petroff or others?

I would say you can't go wrong with any of the pianos you've mentioned. Pehhaps the Petrof is the lesser one. It's all down to taste and pocket, personally I would have a U3 to a U1 and a U3 or U1 to Shimmel or Petrof (sorry can't comment on C1). Its a hard choice between a Kawai and a Yamaha. I prefer the Japanese sound to the European sound. I'd say forget the Petrof, in my experience they're abit sentimental, buy the Yamaha or Kawai, again though they're all top pianos.
