I was looking into buying a Suzuki hp-100d digital piano. This is to have my 8 and 5 year old sons starting to learn how to play the piano. Does anyone have any experience with this model and how does a digital piano compare to a regular acoustic piano.

Have you looked at the YAMAHA Clavinova CVP models yet? They are by far the most realistic digital instruments you can buy. What are you looking for in a digital?
