Question:
My band is playing two dates in Cancun in a few weeks for a large corporate retreat. We have rented nearly everything (backline & frontline) from a US company that has a local office there. The only thing they can not find for us is my Korg Triton Extreme (61 key). I was hoping to simply take my USB Jumpdrive with my setups and programs on it and upload it to an equivalent board down there. Is there any way I can do this with any other keyboard besides the Extreme? They say they can get me a Triton Pro, but I'm unsure if this will work. Any ideas?
Answer:
I am not 100% sure of how that would translate because the Extreme has a much larger program memory. However, since it IS still a Triton, it MIGHT just load what you have and ignore the extra slots. Logic would indicate that Korg would accomodate this idea to keep customers with more than one of their instruments happy, but logic doesn't always win the day, does it, heh.... I can't answer this myself, but go here and ask the 1212-member roster about it. There are no Extreme-specific groups, but since no big synth maker has customer service that's worth s**t, its probably your best bet, since you still have some pre-gig lead time.
