Question:
Does anyone know where I could find custom patches and sysex banks for the Roland JV-1080? I have it loaded with the Sound FX, Orchestral, Drum & Bass and World expansion cards. I was thinking of selling this to help pay for some upgrades, but when I saw what they were going for on Ebay, I changed my mind.

Try David Green's old site www.lilchips.com He's no longer updating it for cost reasons, but has graciously left it up for access and links to tons of Roland and Cakewalk stuff. Some of his material did make it over to www.cakewalknet.com - but there is a lot that didn't. Have an XP80 myself and have used a lot of stuff both for the 1080 and later models that seems to work well for me. IMHO some of the Roland patches are as good as 'monster' samples and are certainly easier to work with. Like you, waiting for a lottery hit before major upgrading here - need a newer pc before I can even make a s/w upgrade worthwhile
