Question:
I just got the Roland S-50, and I totally love it! I have a couple questions: 1) Anybody out there have the sequencing software for it? Is it any good? 2) Of course, I had to open it up. I can make some sense of the layout, but a service manual would be helpful. Anyone know where I can get one? 3) What is the DB-25 connector for (hidden behind panel next to AUX port)? Is it RS-232? How does it work? 4) Anyone interested in trading sample disks? The local music store has a big library of disks, which I can copy. But, I think the collection may be incomplete. I would be interested in exchanging disks thru the mail.
Answer:
Service manuals for all Roland products are available from Roland for $15 each (or so I'm told). Call (213) 685-5141 and tell them you want to order a service manual. They'll route you to the appropriate department.
