Question:
Can anyone please advise ? I have a Roland Synth Ready Strat(Mexican)..great guitar. I'm sure I used to only use Roland 25 pin cable to my GR-09 looped to my POD and didn't use angle audio connection at all. I did however via the 25 pin connection still access synth sounds and strat when required. However last night at a giig the audio output of the Strat was much reduced can anyone please advise ?
Answer:
Bad cable that attenuates the guitar sound? Those cables won't last forever and they are bejesus expensive to replace. We always keep a spare in the line box. We tend to hang them so they don't touch the floor and we then don't step on them. Try taking the guitar to a music shop that deals in them and test the cable on a GR33 and if it still sounds bad, then try a new cable--then you will know if it is the cable or the mod--it is unlikely the Guitar but could be the internal pickup. My guess is the cable since all those wires are so close and it just takes a little rubbing to wear enough insulation to attenuate the signal. We have the 33 and the expression pedal is a nice improvement but the patches are suckier than the GR30.
