Last night a used Roland XV 5080, via ebay, arrived and I noticed what might be a problem with the main dial. When the dial turns it clicks into place with each patch change. But on every fourth or fifth click the patch does not change; as if the dial is some how out of synch. Is this a natural artifact of the machine or is it a defect? I'm considering returning it.

I have had that on my Roland JX10 since new and I think it's on purpose. What happens if you wind at different speeds? Mine seems to switch faster the slower I turn, down to a lower border and then it (almost) single steps.
