Question:
There's a notice just gone up on our notice board 'Epiphone Firebird + hardcase £200'. I've looked up some reviews on harmony central and they basically slag the guitar badly. Is it really such a bad guitar? I know Epiphone pickups have a tendancy to suck, and pick up your next door neighbour dropping his car keys, But I thought some Seymour duncans maybe? How does this price soundp?
Answer:
I had one for a while. It wasn't bad at all. With a hardcase, £200 sounds good. One thing to watch for is that you try it out standing up, using a strap. They have a tendency to nose dive. They have mini humbuckers. Seymour Duncan do have replacement minis. You'd end up with a very nice guitar indeed, if you could stand the neck heaviness.
