How about Yamaha Psr 275 ?

Tagged As: Yamaha Psr 275

Question:
Cubase SL 3.0 I have a cheap Yamaha keyboard (PSR-275) that can send out init info so that it can be reset at a later time. How do I get Cubase to store the init info that the keyboard sends out? Then how do I get Cubase to send the inits to the keyboard next time I use it? I can't find this anywhere in the docs. Thanks for your time!

Answer:
The info you're trying to capture is MIDI, so ... Launch a new project. 1)Set a MIDI track to record the PSR-275 (make sure you're not filtering out sysex data in Cubase). 2)Hit RECORD in Cubase. 3)Do whatever you need on the PSR-275 to transmit the data to Cubase. 4)Save the Cubase (give it a sensible name). >Then how do I get Cubase to send > the inits to the keyboard next time I use it? If the dump is small enough, you can do this on a per-song basis, running the dump before the music (takes me right back to 1987!). I used to use this method to archive hardware sequencer dumps... I'd have ONE arrangement for all dumps. Each dump was on a separate track. Each track was named after the purpose of the dump. I'd solo the track I wanted before transmission (also before recording, otherwise I'd be trying to update the sequencer during the recording!).
