Epiphone Joe Pass guitar

Tagged As: Epiphone Guitar Price

Question:
Does anyone have any experience with the Joe Pass model guitar that Epiphone makes. I saw one very briefly a couple weeks ago but was not able to try it out. The price was right though (about $650). Just how good a guitar is this?

Answer:
I've had mine for about a year and a half and I have to say that I think it is an excellent guitar and great value for money (and I don't mean 'cheap 'n' cheerful'). I'm not a pro, and don't gig at the moment but, for a time, I was using it amplified to play rhythm in an amateur big band. I tend to play through a DR when amplifying and get a great tone. Around the house I mostly play acoustically and, again, don't have any complaints. People play for a living may have a different view but I'm very happy....my only wish would be that they did a single pickup version as I don't use the bridge pup at all. For $650 I'd jump at it.

I believe that they do make a single pu version of this guitar. I think it's called the Regent model or the Emperor Regent. I'm looking into the Joe Pass model. I haven't played one yet. I like the blues and it seems this guitar might be what I am looking for. Thanks, Bob
