I'm considering getting a new Mapex Mars Pro drum kit. I would like any comments on this particular drum kit, good or bad. If it is a bad comment, could you recommend another brand & model (preferably around the same price range) of drum kit.

Good choice. I'd recommend this kit to anyone looking for an affordable drum kit. I played the Mars Pro a couple of months ago when we did a gig in a music store and it sounded great. A very deep, booming sound. doesnt even have to be the mars pro, the regular mars series are damn loud too i've got one for sale if you want it :) i have a mapex limited edition u.s. maple custom kit that i play now, so i dont have a use for the mars series ...great drums ...email me for more info
