Question:
could someone tell me the prices of the gibson sg's? At least the standard, special, and deluxe sg prices. Cause I found a new sg for $500. (course originally $550 and got it down a little, you know how they are) I just need to know what the prices should be for each type. Also what is the difference in quality of each? I've had a Turser electric guitar but it's not really ideal for blues or rock solos.
Answer:
I payed $525 for my SG standard used, and it came with hsc, and an extra set of PU's. I really like neck binding which the cheaper models don't have. The less expensive models also don't have the same PU's as the standard which uses the same PU's as the LP standard (490 R and 498 T). Buy used and save. SG's are easy to find. I've seen about a dozen or so on the block in the year since I purchasd mine. $500-$600 for a standard is about normal, and the 61 reissues go for around $800 used, but I don't see many of those for sale. Mine was made in 96', and the quality is very good.
